letter numero 11.

Hellloooo, howzit going? I got a few dearelders this week which was good but usually we don get those as much cuz they go to the mission office. So you can use that but letters are way better. Anyway, it sounds like everything is going well. Glad to hear katherine and verlan are killin it on the hill.. and Lauren too. claro.. So everything is great here. So in my district there are six of us. two other elders and two sisters. Their all on bikes and have small areas and then were in a car and have the biggest area in the mission. Its huge. But its good. we are the furthest south and west our mission goes. We have a lot of work to do. So the hermanas had a baptism yesterday with this awesome kid named danny. He's 21 and so awesome. Since he's 21, they asked him if he wanted he could serve a mission and he was like, "well if the Lord wants me too i will" haha how awesome is that?? so cool. Hes really cool. it was the first baptism in this district this year. I found out the success in this mission is actually kinda slow. The average was like 2 baptisms per missionary last year. And this mission use to be the highest baptizing mission stateside for a few years but Satan has really hit these people hard and the numbers have dropped off big time. Its interesting because the people here are extremely poor and still no one can get jobs, but that doesn't mean at all that they are humble. They are actually very prideful people, but they all do have a lot of faith which is cool to see. And pretty much every door we knock on, they'll at least let us in to talk because were teaching the "palabraa" haha. The members are amazing. The ward is kind of a miss though. Seems completely different from the DC 1st ward. They are all dying to have us over to feed us because hey think, in that way they are helping the work of the Lord, but were trying to get them to help us more with referrals and the actual work. And they have been stepping it up a ton. We had a lot of lessons this week with members there which is awesome. hahaha except the last one we had was a little bit of a backfire. The member starting teaching things that just.. are not true at all. HA it was a little awkward because we had to step in and say what he was saying was not true. haha cuz the important thing is that SHE knows and understands what were teaching. But we clarified everything for her. Her name is Esperanza. Shes so great. She says she knows the Book Of Mormon is true, that joseph smith was a prophet..everything. And she says she wants to get baptized. But she says she has to change some things in her life before she does it first. Like she's working at quitting coffee completely and stuff. Its good though because she understands the importance of all of this. Shes so great. O and Ana, the one who wants to get baptized too but her "husband", guy shes been with for over 20 yers and their still not married, he is the crazy one that hates us and stuff but we set up an appointment with him tomorrow!!! hahaha I'm so excited. its gonna be awesome. Were going to plan a lot and were bringing the ward mission leader who's an awesome guy. So yesterday was an interesting sunday. it rained sooo much, I've honestly never seen anything like it. There was flooding everywhere. like it was nuts. The roads looked like rivers. haha i got some good pictures. But it was so bad that a lot of people didn't come to church, and only one of our investigators came. And 8 were planning on it. So that was a bummer. But were working on it. There are wayy too many missionaries out here who are lazy. A lot more than i was expecting. I Don't get it. So Were working extra hard trying do the work and not waste ANY time. I'm still trying to figure out how to use our time in the best ways that we can. (Which I'm learning more and more is through the members.) We have a lot of work to do but I'm excited. I hope I'm in this ward and area for awhile so i can help it out more. But anywayy, all is well and is great here. WE have a ton of work to do which is great. haha So I'm kinda hoping for like an earthquake or something here so that the people get humbled and actually listen to us more. hahah is that bad? haha anywayyyy. The gospel is true! Love you all !

letter numero 10.

hollaaaaa,
how is everyone?? i forgot to give y'all my address so i haven't heard anything yet. Hope all is well. Heard about that earthquake and tsunami.. crazy! these really are the last days. anyway, I'm here! ahhh its so awesome, i love it. The flight was awesome, i sat next to this lady named debbie who was faking to be asleep because she didn't want to talk to me about the gospel. haha it was hilarious. but the first day was great. The president picked us all up and we met his wife at the mission home and had lunch. It was really cool. Their like the nicest people ever and Sister Martin is pretty much Mrs. Claus. haha but then we did a bunch of paperwork stuff then met our trainers! haha mine is sooo awesome! a huge answer to prayers. His name is Elder Longhurst. Its his second to last transfer so i'll PROBABLY be his last companion. He's so great though, hes very obedient and we work all day. He's way funny. SO our area is called Camino Real, which is the furthest west our mission goes. So were about 15 minutes from downtown LA.. apparently. But we don't go there because its not our mission. But its so awesome here. So we eat at members houses every night and they feed us SOOOO MUCH. i seriously almost threw up last night at the dinner table because we ate so much. its nuts. And they get CRAZY offended if you don't say yes to eating everything. its bizarre because I'm just use to saying like "o no I'm good" but like you don't say that here. haha I'm gonna get so fat. My companion has already gained like 25 pounds. haha I'm coming back fat for sure. but the food is soooo good. haha i love it. we eat tons of meat, beans, rice, pupusas, tortilla's.. ahhh its awesome. anywayyyyy I'm getting off track. So Satan has got a real hold on the people here. seriously. But its still great! cuz like everyone is still really nice. Well, at least the hispanics. When we knock doors, we almost always get let in just cuz their all somewhat religious and want to feed us cuz were "teaching the palabra" hahaha wherever we go people are like o yeaaa, la palabra! haha its hilarious. the palabraaa. la palabra de Dios! HAHA SO our favorite area to go is known as "tijuanita." haha its awesome. a bit sketchy but the people love us there and we get a lot of teaching opportunities. We just took over the sister area though so we pretty much have two areas. So we've been following up on a lot of their old investigators. Were like some of the only people with a car because apparently my companion doesn't know how to ride a bike. haha not even kidding.. who can't ride a bike???? haha the president told me he tried to teach him and stuff but it didn't work. haha so anyway were in a car. So we have some AWESOME investigators. ahhhhh their so great. So one is Anna. She lives in our apartment building and knows the lessons. We taught her the third and she loved it. She wants to get baptized and everything BUT, there's opposition in all things soooo.. her "esposo" is a huge jerk. ugh i can't stand him. Their not married but have been together for 21 years and have like 3 kids. She like sneaks out to talk to us. haha shes awesome. So he told her that if she gets a job, he'll marry her, so we were gonna fast with her to find a job and then she told us she's over him, and all that, she's moving out and working for her friend. She says its a new part of her life and shes really excited. The only thing is were not sure if that's the best thing because she does have like 2 kids at home and we don't want her to leave them so were talking to her tomorrow to figure out whats best for her and her family. ughh but her "esposo" is terrible. she said he wants to beat us up haha but i saw him, he's like 5 ft tall and has a huge mustache. hahaha but don't worry mom, nothing is gonna happen. O and the other day she got pupusas for us and some other missionaries and he wouldn't take her to pick up the food and then he locked her inside and didn't let her out to eat with us. haha, guys a loser. I really wanna talk to him but my companion doesn't think its the best thing. idk. and then there's Esparanza, who's soooo great! shes really nice, and lives in a nicer part of town. She's been coming to church and like participates in class and stuff and knows it. She's really close to being baptized. Were gonna talk to her about a date next time. O and our last lesson with her was amazing. and really funny, we did it at the chapel with the ward mission leader who is the MAN!!! seriously amazing. We sat down and he just went off, like almost yelling the gospel.. i guess its just the way they talk ya know? and we pretty much just sat back and let him. We would like clear things up here and there or like share a scripture but this last one was all him and she loved it. it was pretty cool. and then there's frederico who we met last night. He lives with some members and is really cool. We had an awesome lesson last night, he says he knows the book of Mormon is true and that Joseph smith was a prophet, but he's not sure enough to get baptized because he's still into the Catholicism. It was a bit funny because he said he knew it was true and stuff. Its just that changing from being catholic is such a huge thing for these people because its such a huge part of their culture. So we explained what knowing that the book of Mormon really means and decided he needs a stronger testimony of it so he's reading and praying and we meet with him in two days. so I'm excited about that. And there's some more but i don't have too much tie to talk about them. But 4 of our investigatos cam to church yesterday which is soooo cool. !!! o dad were teaching a lady from Bogota too. She loved it when i told her you served there. ugh and her Spanish is so great, its so much easier to understand. UGH i wish y'all could have seen some of the situations we were in this last week, they were priceless. We went to this one house and they had a creeepy dog and when we opened the gate it ran out! hahaha so i was like running down the street trying to heard this scary dog back while my companion was on the phone with the person who's dog it was. hahaha it was so funny. eventually i hearded it back but it was wayyyy creeepy so i didn't want to touch it. haha classic. o and if y'all saw some of the places were teaching lessons you wouldn't believe it. There are some bizarre people here. haha but great people. anyway, I'm out of time but all is well, the gospel is true and i love it here! love you all !

letter numero 9.

Hola!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow!!! i leave tomorrow and I'm soooooo excited!!! i cant wait. The mtc is soo great and i love it but I'm ready to get out there. Like my whole district is already gone. My companion left yesterday morning so I'm in a trio for one more day. AHH But everything is sooo great, we've had an awesome week. So great. So Melanie mapped everything out for me so know i think i know where everyone is. thanks. So apparently I'm terrible at mailing stuff and i got a bunch of letters sent back this week. hahaha anywayyyy I'm sending em again. but doesn't matter because I'm calling tomorrow!!!!!! I'm so excited!!! cant wait to talk to y'all tomorrow! i don't think I'll have that much time to talk but not sure. And I'll call in the morning around like 9:30 here i think so have your phones on you and meagan skip class! even though I'm sure you already are. anywayyyy, Candace is having a boy!!! hahaha that's so awesome. sooooooo......... Doug? great name. kinda.. or mathew. haha joking. anyway!! so yea this week was great. It we had our last teaching appointments and times with our teachers. I already miss my teachers sooo much. i love em. Its crazy because like you spend allll your time with them and then its just over. weird. But great. We had an awesome last lesson that went really well. Its was really cool. spanish is sooo great. i love it. it might be better than english no joke. I find myself just praying and doing like everything in spanish. I feel great about it but at the same time i know I'm gonna get to my first lesson and have no clue what anyone is saying. hahah seriously though. although for some reason i understand natives like better than americans speaking spanish. not sure. ahh I'm so excited fo rthe field!!!! So this week we had some awesome devotionals too. The last one was from the provo temple president and he talked on temples.. obviously, but it was awesome! ahh it was so cool i loved it. the temple is sooo cool. And we got to go again today and i loved it. ahhhhh the church is sooo true. haha i sound like a total missionary dork but for real its soo true. Were so lucky to have it. i LOVE the book of mormon now so much more than i every has just because its become so much more alive and real? and like reading and thinking about how to use it in lessons is soooo cool! ahh its hard to put down. And since everyone has been leaving and i had to be with a different companion yesterday and stuff I've had p day yesterday and today which i hate. P days aren't that cool. you just have to do laundry and stufff so i don't love em. But está bien. So Sidney is here but i don't see her that often anymore. Dont know why. Ha still see jenn a lot which is funny. but anyway back to the BOM. the last words of nephi are soooo good! Its so powerful, and Abibidai's whole address is amazing. He and nephi are like my favorites. I love how bold Abinidai was, it gets me pumped to share the gospel with no fear. So cool. The prophets always spoke through the power of the Holy Ghost which i learn everyday more and more is soooooo crucial. We cant do anything without teaching with the spirit. So awesome. So this was our last sunday and so the people leaving sing a song in sacrament meeting and we sand i know that my redeemer lives but like we practiced a bunch and some guys are super musicla in my district and are awesome at piano and stuff so we sang and all had different parts and its was sooooo good!!! Singing is wayyyy better in spanish. especially that song. but anyway our branch president liked it som much he got us some audition and we sung it at this big going away meeting with like tons of people! haha it was soo fun. and none of us were expecting it. but the song was sooo awesome. and we recorded it. maybe I'll be able to get that to you somehow. anyway! out of time, call you tomorrow, love you!

letter numero 8.

hellooooo!!! how is everyone??? first of all, happy birthday to annie and mom!!!!!!!!! apparently mom is in some place I've never heard of.. classic. O and i got the most insane box ever from mom. hahaha mom, thank you. Its about, 40 pounds of junk food. no joke. haha i am officially well fed. my entire hall is very grateful for it. So everything is great! i got one more week! next Wednesday I'll be in cali !!! I'm soooo excited! ahhh its gonna be so awesome! man its been such a fast and good week. our progressive investigator is sooo good. one of em, we had our last visit with. and its our teacher. hahaha it was sooo funny. So since it was our last visit with "juanita" we wanted her to have a friend in the church so she would stay connected. hahaha so we brought another kid in our district as the "member." Haha it was classic. HA we totally suprised my teacher but then it went sooooo well. haha it was so awesome. He was a convert who told this whole made up story but was actually sooooo good. hahaha member work is crucial! haha well everything is awesome. Spanish is great, we read the book of Mormon tons everyday in spanish i love it. haha i think its more power5ful in spanish haha. Man the book of Mormon is so true its like a joke. It is the main tool in the conversion process. how cool is it that we can just pray to know if its true after reading it and receive an answer? amazing. This week we had some lessons that went sooo well. Like the spirit was completely directing it. Its amazing how important it is to listen to the spirit and just say what your told to.. it always works. But I'm still not very good at it, i have a LONG way to go. But one day!!! hopefully soon because i only have a week! haha anyway so yea sidney and jenn are here.. haha its soo funny. Jenn is in my study building haha...what are the chances? Its really funny seeing her, I try to make it as awkward as possible. haha which actually isnt that hard to do. hahaha but Sidney is soo great, i see her a ton because shes spanish speaking but shes not in my building. But shes awesome. She seems really happy. And Ian Blades got here.. how random, and I was hosting when he got here so i got to pick him up at the curb and give him a tour and stuff. haha it was awesome. So we got two new elders in our room this week. haha i talked to them in a british accent for like awhile and they thought i really was from england. Like the whole first day, they were a bit bummed when i told them i was from DC. haha their awesome though and one of them is a gymnyst so we do flips together and I'm getting better at hand stands!!! So an elder in my district got suuper sick this week so i spent a lot of time just hanging out in his room and studying while he slept. haha it actually wasn't bad, i think i like studying by myself wayyy more than class. HAha so my teacher leaves tomorrow, im sooo bummed i love her! its weird shes just like katherine and i just found out her first name is katrina! haha close! haha anyway. glad to hear everyone had fun skiing, and that jack didn't snowboard. I'm not really sure where anyone is actually. Its extremely confusing. You all were here or are coming here? haha i don't know. o btw i love all of you so much... but please don't come to the airport. haha thanks. so we went to the Temple today, it was sooo good. i love it! So we had some awesome firesides this week! soo good. remember the guy who spoke at priesthood session and told the story about the scorpion biting him? he came and spoke and it was soooo good! ahhh hes awesome. And we had another awesome one about tribulations in the mission. Some people told some stories about whats been hard for them and its nuts. People give so much to go on missions. I'm very lucky. A ton of missionaries were completely disowned from their fam cuz of it. nuts. and we sang army of Helaman and some of us stood up at the end and they made us sit down but it was awesome! anyway! out of time! love you!

well helllooooooooooooo
how is everyone? ha i haven't gotten mail in awhile cuz the weekend and holiday so we haven't gotten anything. But i hope your all doing well! umm not sure but apparently some people are here? peru? haha sooo confused. But anyway i had an AWESOME week. I learned so much. I read mathew through, its soo good and powerful. Its truly amazing. i loved it. so I'm working really hard right now to be as good of a teacher i can be, since really that's like all we are. there's sooo much that goes into teaching, its sooo simple if you do it right though. Good lessons are so great though. We have this one progressive inv. named taylor. Shes so awesome. haha it feels so real. I'm sooo excited for our lesson with her this week. haha and their always in character so my companion and i went and got cookies from the cafeteria and dropped them off for her. hahaha because she needs to know we love her! haha but everything is so great here. only two more weeks! IM SO excited. so tomorrow sidney and jenn get here! ha I'm so excited to see them that will be funny. And I'm hosting tomorrow so hopefully I'll see them right when they pull up. And i think sidney might be in my zone because our zone is like all stateside spanish! that would be soooo cool. so i saw mark davis! hahaa most random thing ever. So i was sitting in the giant auditorium room, reading just waiting for it to start, looked up, saw mark but went back to reading. haha it took me like 20 seconds for me to realize who i just saw. But when i figured out i just saw mark i ran down and gave him a hug and talked to him. haha it felt sooo good to see a familiar face. sooo random. The nallys spoke and did such a great job. It was like all on music and we just picked our favorite hymns and sung them it was awesome. And i saw jarom the next day! he works here but i hadn't seen him yet! ahh it was soo good and he just got engaged the night before! ahhh i love him. so we learned this week what it really means to be a true disciple of Christ. Really dedicating and devoting yourself to this gospel and following him. We talked about forgetting yourself which i also means forgetting your weaknesses. especially now as missionaries, we just need to not worry and just put all our trust in the Lord. I wrote down some things i want to work on and I'm working at getting better at them. So anyway, my companion is great! i love you, love it here and love the gospel! it is sooo true, and I'm so excited to help people along the path of coming unto Christ. its amazing what a blessing this gospel and church really is. I love you!

wussuup???
howzit?? sounds like everyone is killin it.. dads in peru? people are in utah?? haha I'm so confused but o well. I hope y'all got my letters. BUnkers, i wrote you one but somehow got mixed with other papers and never got sent. Sorry! i just sent it though. Morriss'! its a girll !! hahahaha thats so awesome. i just wrote y'all about it so should get that soon. But that's soo cool. girls gonna be a champ on the golf course. ha anywaysss, meagan tell me whats up. Everything is really good around here. We speak spanish all day, zero english which helps a lot. but still hard. This district of native spanish speakers left this morning and the rest are leaving tomorrow. Ahh I'm gonna miss them soo much. Ha their so awesome. funniest kids ever. ugh i love em. Yea so another 3 weeks. I'm so ready to go but at the same time i have so much to learn! Teaching is really hard. Like we have the default lessons down ya know? but like tailoring the lessons to the investigator and asking really good questions. haha its way harder than it sounds. But its so important to be able to make the lesson about the person. But were teaching 9 lessons this week so we have a lot of practice. And we have 3 progressive investigators which are sooo god and feels so real. Its funny, even when we see them like not in the class, they go into their character so their ALWAYS in character. haha but its really helpful. And my teachers are sooooo awesome. i lucked out. One of my teachers, hermana smith reminds me so much of katherine. haha shes just like you its weird. Not quite as dorky but shes getting there. haha Tomorrow we combine districts cuz so many people have left so that should be fun. ha this is sooo weird. It feels like yesterday that i was writing my last email. Weeks go so fast here its bizarre. Its been a good week though, I've learned a lot. I'm trying to spend most of my time learning how to be an effective teacher and speak spanish. haha i figure that's what i need to focus on. Ha that seems so simple but its so easy to get caught up in other gospel things which are all good things but not totally why im here. There is so much that goes into teaching its crazy. And to get good takes a lot of practice, at least for me it does. Sid gets here the 22nd right? i heard suttons is going to anaheim? sooo cool ! so close to me! and spanish speaking! soo awesome. stateside spanish is where its at. Ugh dad i keep meeting kids going to bogota and stuff and i gets so jealous. haha. no no. Its weird too because there's some kids here going to DC t0morrow. bizarre. haha so i feel like an mtc pro now.. haha not sure if thats a good thing or not. i just feel like Ive been here forever. There's a huge group that's coming to san fernando with me in a couple weeks. im sooo excited. It was cool i got to eat lunch with the mtc mission president today and he quizzed me on scriptures and stuff. haha it was so awesome. hopefully he doesnt call me to talk at the next fireside though because all the time he sits with missionaries at lunch or something and then when he gets up to talk every so often, calls on them to come and share their testimony or something in front of the entire mtc. haha its soo funny. the firesides and devotionals are soooo good ! every time, there so cool. And since we haven't had and apostle in awhile, tonight's gotta be the night. i can feel it. haha but either way its always a general authority. i think i take it for granted how lucky we are to listen to them so often. It really is so cool. And I've always taken for granted conference. Ha i like cannot wait for the next one. haha The other night they called an elder up to talk for a sec and tell his conversions story. haha kids from greenland and apparently the first missionary to ever come from their. haha i didn't even know people lived there. haha anyway my time is up. thanks for writing and keep em coming! gospel is so true! love you!

letter numero 5.

hollaaaa, wutsup???? thanks for writing! im killin it in the letter department. haha no but i love hearing from all of you. You all sound like your doing really well. but everything is wayyy good here. We had an awesome week. so i was in a trio for a little but now im back to just me and elder Pacheco!! haha i love him. But our third got sent to the field early because his spanish was like fluent. its crazy he came speaking like fluently. But he got sent to san fernando si i'll see him soon enough! I'll be out there in 4 weeks! cannot wait. i'm soooo excited. But i sooo love it here. My spanish totally kicked in this week. it kinda clicked. everything we do is in spanish, during the day, in class and when we teach and it finally kicked in. This last week in TRC(teaching) i was able to say like everything i wanted to! it was so cool. The gift of tongues is soooo real because there is no way in the world i would be speaking spanish like this without loads of help from the Lord. Teaching is by far in a way my favorite thing because the spirit gets soooo strong and its so crazy how much the spirit directs the lessons. its sooo cool. Going back to teaching with just two instead of 3 is different but i like it way more. With three people its way easier to get kinda lost at where you want to go. Two is perfect. Its so weird it feels like yesterday i was writing my last email, the days all just blurr together here. Also i think I'm getting fat. Threes a scale here but i don't want to get on it. haha o dad! so they just started sending gringos back to columbia and a bunch of them are in my zone. I'm just a little jealous. haha no jota ka, i cant wait for san fernando. At a fireside the other day they talked about how they choose where you serve. Its so cool. Truly by revelation. So we went to the temple today and did sealings. It was sooooo cool. We did it last week too. I love it. So sister Lewis is here! haha its crazy she's in my zone. So i see here everywhere. Like all day. And she's in my ward. She's awesome. I'm actually with her right now. haha Ahh but i love it here. Its not only cool to learn about the gospel more and stuff but its sooooo cool becoming more in tune with the spirit. Its sooo crucial and so real. I'm learning that the best missionaries are not just good teachers. They are the ones who love the people and teach with the spirit. I'm learning to be more in tune with the spirit so i can teach more with it. But it takes a lot of time and effort. So their completely changing the way missionary work works. They haven't totally filled us in on it all but its going to be very cool. Their keeping preach my gospel but changing the way in which you teach. Not exactly teaching them but helping along the way through the conversion process. I'm really excited. It wont be here for a few months though so I'll learn it in the field because they've already started it in the field. So this hermana that was here left to san fernando and wrote me. She says its awesome and she loves it. She's in hollywood right now and said she's teaching a lot. And apparently most of the trainers are native speakers so hopefully i get one. haha So i got a huuuuge thing of suuper good cookies but there was no letter with it. was that you mom? haha no idea. But anyway my time is up. I love all of you! keep writing please!

letter numero 4.

wussup???
Thanks for all the letters this week, sorry it took me a couple days to send out some letters, katherine for some reason the letters i write to you keep getting sent back haha but i'll figure it out! Also if everyone could keep the letters in english for a little while longer that would be great. hahah my spanish IS getting better but still isn't great. O! but so all these advanced speakers came in this week and they speak so well ! we hang out with them all the time, its so tight. Their all like super funny mexican kids. aww i've met some of the coolest kids since I've been here. I met a russian kid the other day who came straight from russia, met the missionaries when he was 14 and got baptized and is the only one in his family. And I met a kid from Televiv Israel. He speaks spanish and hebrew and hes now learning english. haha so sool. Aww but the other day i was talking to some natives and had like a full conversation with them! I UNDERSTOOD THEM, AND I THINK THEY UNDERSTOOD ME! haha it was sooo cool. The gift of tongues is soo real. So i've actually been spending like all my time learning the language. Not as much lately on the gospel. Just cuz i had one lesson where i had a lot to say and stuff but didn't know how to say it ya know? so i was like, i'm over this. So now im always studying spanish. I figured im here for 6 weeks just to learn spanish, if i already knew it i'd be here for 3. And its annoying because my took companions both speak portuguese and the switch for them, is like nothing. Both of them could probably be in advanced, they were actually both given the opportunity but didn't take it. Doesn't make sense to me, i would have gone for sure! So its hard to keep up but i'm working on it! i'm excited to get it down though. So this week has been soo good. So yea im in a trio and both my companions are awesome. polar opposites but awesome. haha i heard mom thinks my companion is gay because he ballroom dances?e spirit! it was sooooo cool.? hahaha classic... no hes not, jut a very determined dork. haha but hes SO AWESOME. So dad i know some kids going to Columbia, they just started sending gringos their again. Im suuper jealous. But so we are teaching the second lesson again this week, im excited. Last weeks TRC went soooo well, the spirit was sooo strong! we taught the plan of salvation to this guy who speaks well and his gf who doesn't speak a word of english. haha it was a bit awkward because she didn't know what was going on but it but went really well. their was a point after he read a scripture where it was quiet for like a minute but like in a good way! we just sat there, feeling the spirit! it was sooo cool. even though their just actors, it was sooo cool. We've been working sooo hard this week. it took me awhile to kinda figure out like ya know, how to use your time wisely. Not just using your time well though, but using it in the best way possible and its been a big help. We've been just focused and working and its been so awesome. i love it here. I was always working really hard before but it takes a little to get into the rythmn of things and stuff. But its so great. So we watched this movie called the gift of teaching, by elder holland. Elder holland is unreal ! he is soooo sick! you should all watch it because its soooo good. but he is like the mos inspirational speaker ever and is sooo emotional! ahh i love him. But tonight is a fireside so a general authority is coming, really hope its an apostle. anyway im out of time but i love all of you! keep writing!

familyy!!! wussup??? I've gotten so many letters from all of you! thanks I've loved em. this week is has been soooo good. its been awesome. so my spanish is coming but still isn't very good. but it has gotten wayyy better hahaha. we gave another lesson this week in mtc where like the actors come in and you teach em. it was sooo cool because it feels soo real. but the lesson went so well ! the spirit was soo strong it was sick. And the spanish came really easily, it was awesome. Its awesome here but it weird at the same time. like i dont really know how long I've been here and i never know what day it is. haha its suuuper confusing. And when i see new elders getting here they look so young. haha even though must of em are like older and I've only been here 3 weeks. anywayyyy so most of my district is like leaving to peru tomorrow so were gonna be down to like 4 which wont be as fun but we'll have more teaching opportunities. So i found out my comp is even more of a dork than i thought. haha found out hes a ballroom dancer! haha how priceless is that? i love him though. hes the man. We've had some awesome firesides though and my teacher is sooooo sick. My teacher is hermano Painter, hes the man. The spirit is sooo strong in his lessons. The other day he was the investigator and we each just had like 2 minutes each to talk to him and at the end the spirit was soooo strong, we all just sat there in silence for like a couple minutes. it was sooo cool. This gospel is just soo real. i love it. We go to the temple every tuesday and its sooo awesome. at 9:50... price, hint hint ;) So this cool elder named elder Souza is joining my companionship so i'll be in a trio. hes the man though, im always with him anyway. But we've had some awesome firesides and we have another on tonight. they never tell us who it is though. hopefully another apostle because Holland was mazing. So every sunday night we get to watch a church movie, so we've watched the Testaments, Joseph Smith movie, and the Legacy. Ok i LOVED the first two but the Legacy?? it was hard for me to take seriously. haha that movie is so funny. But o my gosh the joseph smith movie is soooo good! and the testaments??? awesome! haha But i absolutely love it here. im learning sooo much and im always busy, seriously dont have a second to myself. ha but its awesome. mike harding got here this week and i keep running into so many random kids i know its weird. like peter johnson! haha So we've taught the first two lessons twice but this week were teaching the second lesson so im excited. its a bit harder because its the plan of salvation and theirs tons of terms to learn but i'll get it! the spirit is so real. I'm working at being more in tune with the spirit so i'll be able to be taught by the spirit as well as teach with it. ahh its soo cool. anyway i'm out of time but i love you all! keep writing!

letter numero 2.

Hi!!! how is everyone? thanks for all the letters i love getting em. i totally get the most in my district and its awesome. and its totally a competition. haha but so the mtc is so awesome, im loving it. My spanish still isn't too good but its gotten a lot better. my district like all speaks sooo well but thats because i got thrown into intermediate. My teachers are wayyy good i love em. So my district got this new elder. elder souza, ha hes the man and hes going to san fernando! i met a ton of sisters going to san fernando too. their so awesome. Sister missionaries are soo good. but so this week has been great. we taught a TRC lesson with like actors and stuff and we had to teach the whole first lesson in spanish!!! it was way hard but awesome. At times i like totally spoke spanish haha it was really cool. were doing it again this friday so im pumped. So a lot of my district is leaving for the peru MTC so were gonna have low numbers... small price. Its not too bad because were usually are just with our companions anyway. haha but so i just got the dorkiest haircut ever! hahaha its so awesome. its suuuper short on the side and long on the top. haha so i keep seeing people in here i know. its really weird. Michael harding just got here and ian blades comes soon. so Elder Holland came in and spoke to us last week because the mission presidency just changed last week. Elder holland was soooo good. they dont tell us who is talking until they walk in so it was an awesome surprise. he was soo awesome. He talked about never coming home from your mission. And not wasting any part of our day and always staying focused, which is hard because its easy to get distracted but im working on it. It was suuper inspiring hahaha. But we got to watch the joseph smith movie last night! haha it was sooo good. i love that movie. So i feel like i've been here for like a year. its bizarre. all the days blurr together so its really weird. this last week flew bye. We've been working really hard. me and my companino just set the record for most contacts! haha yea i know their mtc contacts but still. So i hope you all are getting my letters but im not sure everyone did. we can only write on tuesdays which is sooo rough! but anyway. But my teachers are sooo great. i have one that is sooo great. We got to go to the temple today! it was sooo good i love it. Souza says wuttup (and he says the savior lives and he is the head of this church). hahaha were going a little crazy in here but estamos bien. So i told the fish joke for like a huge group meeting. the what do you call a fish with no eyes? a fsh. hahaha and like no one laughed. haha it was awesome. So me and souza are singing i need the every hour like all day and our district hates us for it. haha and im always singing the missionary song and people love it!!!!!! So gym is sooo awesome. i play basketball every day. its sooo fun! O and the food is awesome! haha i think im gonna get suuper fat6 here. I get huge wraps every day. i love it. hahaha anyway i ran out of time. ugh a half hour goes fast. especially when i cant remember anything that happened this week. but anyway, the gospel is sooo true and im lovin it !

letter numero 1.

holaaaa
So the first week here has been awesome. seriously i love it. Everyone said the first couple days were super hard but I've loved it since i got here. Its weird I've only been here a week because its felt like a month. Its weird. So when we got here we did these role play lessons with the actors who seemed soooo real it was weird. I thought i could just tell them everything I knew and just bear my testimony and I did. And there were like a hundred missionaries and no one was speaking up so i did and i got humbled fast. hahaha teaching is soooo hard. way harder than i was expecting. but its awesome and that was after like 2 hours of being here. Since then all we do is study... and its been awesome. We wake up at 6:30 and study till ten thirty at night and I'm never bored. Its seriously been so cool. its crazy how much I've already learned. Even though we study so much, there never seems to be enough time in the day. Its really weird. Preach my gospel is amazing. You should all read it and go through ALL the scripture references because it makes all the difference. So everything is in Spanish so i had no clue what was going on the first 2 days but its a lot better now. I understand about 60 percent of what my teacher says so its awesome! haha But i got put in the intermediate Spanish class and everyone in my class speaks wayy better than me. But I've been studying Spanish A TON and i'm catching up. so my companion is elder Pechecho. Hes a super nerdy kid from draper but hes soooooo awesome!! haha i love him. hes originally from brazil so he speaks portuguese fluently and it helps him understand spanish but confuses him when he speaks haha its kinda funny. So my district and zone are awesome. i love em. i've run into a bunch of people here i know its weird. Do any of you remember the trouble kid joel acker in wolfeboro? ha cuz hes in my zone and its suuuuper weird. but hes grown up a lot... kinda. haha but being here has been so amazing. i have literally felt the spirit since i got here. Its so cool. And my teachers are soooo good. hermano painter is so awesome and after every class im just like in shock at how awesome the class was. The days are sooo long here its so weird. we get to have gym everyday and basketball has been SOOO FUN. ha the kids arent that good here so it makes me feel awesome. So we went to the temple today so that was awesome. and the second couselor in my alpine ward was working there so that was cool. thanks for all the letters! i've gotten the most in my district so its awesome:) hahaha jota ka jota ka ( jk ) i think i became a dork really fast. At night i like cant wait to study the next day, its so weird. haha but so we can only write today, tuesday cuz its our p day. So it kinda sucked because i got all these letters and then couldn't write back... small price. Saying bye to everyone was the worst. haha you all should have seen meagan. The elders that took me in were super confused at why she was like balling. haha it was awesome. i'm writing all of you letter today though so you should get them soon. But anyway i'm doing well and loving it here! o and keep it up with dearelder cuz its soooo awesome. Love you all ! btw meagan tell sean rooney i ate a full apple in 3 bites and my buddy did in in two!
