letter numero 19.

well hellooooo family! wow it sounds like a ton is happening at home! hallie is here!!!!!!!! yeaaaa, way to go annie.. proud of ya.  I died laughing when dad told me scott called twice the first night to find out how to make hallie stop crying.  thats priceless.  yea i'd love to see pictures of her.  Melanie, happy late birthday! I HOPE IT WAS GREAT! meagan, did i tell you we have a baptismal date on your birthday??? I'm so excited for that.  He's the coolest kid ever. Pierre.  So we taught him all the commandments and he's good on all of em! haha all except for fasting.  haha it was so funny.  he likes to eat.  And he's young so i really hope he goes on a mission.  that would be the coolest thing ever.  So dad great job on stake conference! that's so cool.  So i found out I'm giving a talk this next Sunday! haha aww man i just hope they understand me haha.  So we had a funny week.  So idk if you all heard about the "end of the world" that was on may 21st.  haha but it was a big deal around here.  People actually thought it was over.  Pretty absurd. The first guy we talked to that day was like "es el fin del mundo!" haha it was really funny.  But i think we talked to more people because of it.  haha a lot of people having been pretty ancy around here bout an earthquake.. ha but idk.  Maybe it would make the people more humble! haha So this week we've been spending a lot of time going through the ward list and looking for people who have fallen off and gone inactive.  Its actually really sad to see but i really enjoy doing it.  Like when we find em its like... awwwww we got you! haha its like they just got caught from the cops or something.  But so many of these people go inactive because of the most lame reasons ever.  Like getting offended or something.  So We've been spending a lot of time looking for those people and I've enjoyed it.  And we've been finding people on the way.  So my companion is leaving this next week so I'm getting ready to have a new companion and to take over this area.  thatll be interesting! ahha I'm actually really excited for it.  My companion is awesome though im going to miss him.  i think it will be good for me though to have a new companion though.  Because he's still my trainer.  I just hope i get a hard worker for a companion.  I think i can get a long with anyone unless their just lazy.. Than would not be fun.  haha idk.. figure something out.  I'll pray a lot! and please pry that i get a good next companion! thanks! So one guy that were teaching, named juan Chavez is sooo cool.  haha we've only taught him twice but they've been such great lessons.  Its sooo cool to see people just ready for the gospel.  This guy is soo ready.  We've been praying to find people who are ready and guess what!!!?? prayers are answered! haha anyway we watched the restoration with him and he was just looking and nodding the whole time.   He loved it.  And his family is so important to him so i think next week that's what were going to focus on.  Hes just such a good guy who's really worried about his family.  Because his kids are a bit crazy.  But that's gonna all change! anyway, I'm out of time.  If you get any time, please send family pictures! i would love em.  like pictures of all of us together? thanks ! o and mom... hahah thank you for the secret presents.  haha you are hilarious.  And those will help out a lot.  I love you all soooo much!

letter numero 18.

hellooo familyyyyyy,
We had another awesome week! We've been praying a lot to find people who are ready to hear and accept the gospel and we were so blessed this week to find people.  We had a "Blitz" where tons of missionaries get together in an area and all go knocking together.  It was so much fun.  Usually we try not to knock too much because its not as effective but we haven't been getting too many referrals so we went knocking a lot this week.  It was soooo fun. haha i love knocking because you meet some crazy people.  Some people are realllly nice and others just yell at you and stuff.  I've learned the only way to deal with stuff like that is just to laugh it off.  It makes it more fun and you don't get down at all.  So we knocked a lot and we got some great new investigators! hahaha this one guy named Jose Chavez who is so funny.  We met his wife at the door and set up an appointment with her but when we came back she wasn't that interested but her husband really is.  We had a great lesson with him.  He says he doesn't belong to a church and he kinda just goes off of what he personally believes and like everything he said he believed in was so true and so right.  Ha his beliefs already completely consistent with the gospel.  It was so easy to teach him.  And last night the best thing every happened.  We got to teah Pierre.  If you don't remember hes a 21 yr old kid who's mom and sister are members but hes not.  He just came from peru and we've been teaching him for like a month.  But we only get to teach him once a week.  Hes really smart, always comes to church, reads and prays but just hasn't been receiving, or well, recognizing his answer. So Last night we taught the third lesson. Which is the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It went soooo well. At the end we started talking about authority and the priesthood and a little about blessings.  He asked us if we could give blessings and we said yes.  Then he asked us to give him a blessing of health because he has problems with his jaw and it hurts so much he cant sleep.  So we gave him a blessing right then.  At the end of the blessing he told us he felt butterflies and he felt really good.  We asked him him what he thought that was and explained to him it was the holy ghost.  he wasn't quite sure so we asked him if he wanted to say a prayer to know if that was his answer.  he didn't even hesitate he was like YES and went right to his knees.  He said an AWESOME prayer and asked to know the truth.  At the end of the prayer we asked how he felt about it and he said really good.  We asked him to be baptized and he said yes.  Ahhhh it was sooo cool.  He's going to get baptized on the 29th of may.  meagans birthday! and that's my companions last Sunday.  Ahhh im so excited for him.  He's like the coolest kid ever.  We've gotten to be really good friends with him.  Hes soo funny.  Ahh that's going to be the best this ever. Anyway.  So this morning my companion and i woke up early and drove and looked at the ocean. It was so cool.  Really pretty because it was really early and stuff.  And the water was so flat with like some steam coming off it.  Reminded me of the Lake really early in the morning.  but it was really fun.  I'll send some pictures.  We never usually go up there because its in malibu and its all rich white people but today we went and it was really fun.  So anyway, I got to go but i love you! hope all is well.

hellooooo famillyyyyyy
Well it was so great to talk to you all yesterday! one hour goes really fast.  It sounds like your all doing really well though.  Cant believe annie still hasn't had the baby. haha that's crazy.  ha jack was soo funny.  "dougie when you get home I'm gonna hit you right in the face with a water balloon" hahaha that was priceless.  And i don't doubt that he will.  glad to hear he hasn't forgotten about me.  Water balloon dudes for life! haha  and meagan i was just teasing you about the job thing haha.  No but it was really good to hear all of your voices again.  i loved it.  Well the baptism that the hermanas were gonna have last night didn't really happen.  haha the guy didn't show up.. bummer.  its actually really sad because this guy knows its all true and knows he needs to be baptized and everything! but hes just scared he wont be able to keep his side of the promise of baptism.  and theyve tried literally everything with him but he still didn't come.  so that was interesting.  Ha we just sat on the floor in the chapel as a district and had dinner together.  It was pretty funny.  But anyway!!!! other than that we had a great week.  We had some great lessons and met this amazing girl were now teaching.  She's honesty amazing.  She's only like 22 or something and she's already had a crazy hard life.  all her family is in mexico and shes going to school and working and sending all her money to them.  And shes not like out getting in trouble or anything like that on the weekends, shes a really good girl and she just takes care of her niece.  Our first lesson  with her was really spiritual, we didn't really teach the lesson but just tried to get to know her and understand her better and it was Really cool.  Super emotional.  O! and we met this recent convert that kind of fell of the map a few months back.  I'd never met her but i was on exchanges and we found her! and talked to her and had a really good talk.  that one was pretty emotional too.  And it was so cool.  She told us she was going to be moving this weekend and this Saturday we came and helped her move.  haha we do that a lot.  but she moved into my area!!! so we get to see her now.  and she came to church yesterday!!!!!! first time in months! ahh it was so cool,  She's been having a really rough time recently but now shes coming back! Shes a really cool lady.  i think i told you about the mothers day fiesta here. haha it was amazing.  Started off as a quiet dinner and stuff and turned into this giant fiesta, blasting like Spanish country music and everyone was dancing.  it was pretty funny.  And I got to sit with this daughter of this recent convert family but she hasn't been baptized.  We were talking about missions and stuff and she had some questions about the church and i think shes gonna start talking with us when we go teach her parents! so that could be great! And tonight we have another appointment with Pierre! I'm so excited i love this kid.  I think were like his best friends here.  Because he just came from Peru and doesn't know anyone.  But anyway I'm excited for tonight and think we might have a baptism date for him tonight! well anyway i got to go.  But it was sooo great talking to all of you!
O btw could y'all send some good family pictures of everyone? like with all of us? I use them to make scripture cases and stuff.  And people love to see the pictures of you. So that would be great.  anyway, love you all ! be safe. annie... dork work on that baby

letter numero 16.

So first of all, HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY DAD!!! haha sorry i forgot to write that last week.  I don't really think or realize what the date is.  Crazy its already may.  So i hope you had a good birthday and went to rio grande or something! haha  So this week was the best.  We had a lot of work and it was all great.  Just yesterday in church it kinda hit me how much i care about these people.  They are amazing.  I love this ward so much.  Its crazy and disorganized and no one really knows how to do anything haha but their soooooo great.  Some of the greatest and most humble people ever.  i feel like I've been in this ward all my life its pretty weird.  Its very true that you grow to love the people that you serve.  The thing is i don't think they have any idea how much we actually care about them.  But that doesn't matter.  BUt this week was so great.  We had some hilarious and bizarre things happen while knocking.  I'm pretty sure Satan possesses dogs whenever were near them.  But it was so much fun. I love knocking because its actually pretty affective whith Latinos.  Well a lot of the time they think were immigration and they run or lie to us haha but usually when they realize were teaching "the palabraaaa" haha they like always let us in.  So we got to teach Esperanza this last week again, she is soooo awesome! Its sooo cool to see how far she's come.  She's given up so much to be worthy of baptism and everything is working.  So were going to get a date from her this week. And i think its going to go well.   This week though we've been really blessed with people who are ready to hear and learn and who DONT have problems.  ahhh such a huge blessing because we've been dealing with a lot of people with a ton of problems.  but were teaching this kid pierre whos 21 and is a members son and hes reading and he came to church and is really likes it!!  And his mom is so great.  And that crazy peruvian lady Maruja came to church too! She is hilarious and she absolutely loved church.  She knows everything about the bible  She's come twice now.  Esperanza came too! and we met this friend of a member named Paola.  She's 21 and has the cutest little baby boy.  We taught her the first lesson and it went soooo well.  She loved it and she came to church.  The members have been helping us out so much more recently, its been so huge.  Especially this one member, hermana Perez.  This lady is amazing.  She totally understands the importance of member missionary work and is always helping us out.  She gives our investigators rides and sets up appointments with them and we don't even need to ask her.  She awesome.  So one day this week we went to move this family(the family with pierre)haha it was the most interesting moving experience ever.  all we had was a little pick up truck and we piled this thing like 20 feet high with furniture.. no joke.  two loads and we moved the whole apartment.  it was so funny.  We moved so much stuff though my arms were dead.  o and this last Saturday was Mormon helping hands day.. like this big thing they do all over California every year i guess.  and so they had this giant event at a park and we went and cleaned up the LA river.  ughhhh... grossest thing ever.  I cant believe they even call it a river.  But it was really fun, there were TONS of people there and stuff.  So one night this week we went to this part member apartment with the coolest guys ever.  We go there a lot because its full of non members and less actives.  All these old guys who work all day every day and send all the money back to their countries.  anyway their awesome and we hung out with em and made tacos and listened to mexican music. haha funnest thing ever. And now they like us a bit more and are more comfortable around us.  One guy that lives there named Daniel is the most humble guy ever.  He's a recent convert and doesn't know THAT much about the church but he's learning and he KNOWS its true.  hes the man... Were realllly tight with him.  so anyway, that was my week.  We just heard osama got killed!  yeeeeeaaaaaaaaa. its about time we got that loser!!! haha anywayyyyy. haha so next week i get to call you because its mothers day! next Sunday.  I'm not sure but i think I'll be calling at about 3:30 or so.  that's 3:30 here so like 6:30 there.  Sorry so late but thats the only time we can.  I'll try to email you if that changes though.  btw.. has annie had the baby yet???? haven't heard anything.  mom.. thank you so much for that little package.  It was awesome.  and i hope you know how useful those little speakers are.  We use them all the time to watch movies with investigators.  so anyways, love you and I'll talk to you all on sunday!  Btw i got to baptize an 8yr old yesterday! haha so great.

Well helloooooo, wutsup everyone??? how is everything? So Annie's about to have Hallie???? hahaha crazy.  good luck with that! your in my prayers.  Scott you should gain some weight so the baby can be comfortable when you hold it.  o and meagan has mono??? hmmmm soo.... What have you been up to lately meagan????....?????  heard price is in coloroda shooting with Poor Boyzz? hahah wow.. still can't get over that.  that's awesome.
So we've had a great week this week.  I love the new people in our district so thats been awesome.  So the baptism we had for this Sunday fell through with Maria because she went to Arizona for a week.  haha .. first time she's traveled in like 10 years and she picks the weekend of her baptism to go. hhmmmm  SO! were gonna get her when she gets back.  then Esperanza has been doing so great and i think she's gonna get baptized in like 2 weeks or so.  and she still isn't drinking coffee!! haha well we've had some amazing lessons this week. So we've been teaching this one guy named Lorenzo in this part member apartment with these AWESOME guys.  And then we taught this lady, Maruja, who lives in their complex, and we taught her in the guys apartment.  Well she's REALLY  into the bible and everything and at the end we invited her to church and Lorenzo and the other guys were there and Lorenzo was like "I don't have time to go to Church" and she looks at him and was like "what? so you don't have time for God? haha she was like "six days to work and one day for the Lord. Es lo que dice en La Biblia" hahaha it was soooo funny.  One investigator calling the other one out... priceless.  And the member guys were just dying laughing. haha  well anyway, SHE came to church.  it was stake conference.  And she came with her black friend Kennet from downton LA.  haha and he spoke Spanish! haha it was so funny.  Esperanza came too with a whole bunch of member single women. haha their sooo funny.  Theres this group of middle aged single women in the ward who are always hanging out and are soooo funny.  So Esperanza now has friends!!! haha and actually one of them had a boyfriend who we've been eating with and just getting to know and we got to teach him this week! ha and it was really good.  he's a really nice guy.  Were meeting with him again this week.  So lately we've been having amazing weeks and pretty slow weekends its a bit weird.  So we had a little slow weekend but then last night we taught our friend Louis! haha the one who we gave a blessing to in the hospital.  he called us! haha it was crazy! no one calls us! but he did and we went and taught him and it went crazy well ! so that was great.  So we met this guy who lives in a members complex and his entire apartment burnt down.. like completely fried.  its pretty sad to see.  So the member has been helping him a lot and we've spent some time talking to him.  But he speaks English so were gonna hand him off.  But such a great guy. That was pretty sad to see though.. He literally has nothing now.  His AT&T motem is what started it and their not doing anything about it to help him. Really hard to see.  But anywayyy on a lighter note.. i ate a fish eye this week ! yea ! hahaha but everything is great here and were workin hard! this is my companions last transfer and hes getting really tired haha but whes still goin! ha but anyway, thanks for the letters, great to hear from you! love ya

helllooooo!!!!!!!!!!
hollaa family! soooooooo it was a great weekk!!!!!! its really weird how fast the weeks fly bye.  I feel like a blink and then all the sudden I'm emailing again.  But so everything is soooog good here.  So price is going to Alaska to film with poor boyz????? haha aww that poor kid... always livin in my shadow;) haha no that's insane.  when i found out i was freaking out a bit and my companion doesn't know the first thing about skiing so he just thinks I'm super weird.  That is sooo crazy though.  Well done phister.. do work.  aww and Melanie, thank you sooooo much for the letters from the kids and those pictures.  Those were the best pictures ever! i love em! their really cute.  hey actually, could someone send me a few more good family pictures? that would be awesome.  Because i already used some to make a scripture case.  So anyway i always forget what to write because so much has been going on.  So yesterday was awesome and i got to baptize someone!!! yeaaaa haha.  So there is this really cool family, the cruz family.  They've been inactive for a long time but are coming back and are doing awesome.  We go over a lot to their house to help em out because they've been having a hard time.  Its always crazy over there but so fun.  So anyway we baptized their little boy named Louis.  Such a cute kid.  Hes just nine, and it was really cool.  The baptism hit the parents hard and they are really focused on coming back and doing the things they need to. They are awesome.  I really wish the Father could have baptized his son.  That would have been much better.  But it was fun to do the baptism.  Ahhh their such a great family though, i love em.  So Another investigator we have is named Esperanza, shes sooooo awesome! she wants to get baptized but said she had personal problems holding her back.  Well we finally found out what those are... She drinks coffee. That's it! and she only drinks a cup a day. I think its cool because she really knows the importance of making this covenant.  So anyway we bought her some "Perro" hahah the cafĂ© mormona! haha and were going to fast with her tomorrow to stop.  I'm really excited.  And she said that this is the only thing holding her back from being baptized.  Then our other investigator Maria is loca! haha shes so great, the last like 3 times we've gone bye our purpose was to get a baptismal date but every time something happens and gets in the way.. Like she's super late and we don't have time, or the environment isn't good(thanks to her crazy family) haha or whatever.  So we've been praying specifically for the opportunity to extend the baptismal commitment to her in a great environment.  So i really hope that happens this week cuz shes so ready.  But we also get the feeling that theres a lot more to her and this situation.  Like she might be doing it just to bring her family together, which isn't a bad reason but we want her to do it or herself too.  But I'm not sure, we will find out.  We think maybe we haven't had the chance to get a date from her for a reason.  I'm excited to see what happens with her.  So another great thing... we went to the LA temple!!!!! it was soooooo awesome.  That temple is amazing and soooo pretty.  I loved it.  I love the temple.  And of course ran into another person i know.  haha its kind of bizarre, i've seen a ton of people i know so far.  I'm sure lindsay mcCdougal told you i saw her.  hahaha shes so funny.  We got a random phone call while we were planning and my companion answered and it was lindsey and james. haha and they were like outside our apartment haha.  They are awesome and brought us cafe rio!!! hahaha So at the temple i bought the doctrine and covenants DVD's.  You have to buy them!!!!!! get em at like this is the place, it is sooo cool.  They have amazing little like 15 minute movies that are sooo good! please get them and watch them.  Theres one called only a stone cutter that is amazing i love it. promise you'll watch it? THANKS! haha So mom, thank you so much for everything you send. haha your crazy.  Mom has sent us 16 boxes of waffel crisp! haha it is sooo good though.  So this week we went on exchanges for a day and i got to be on a bike! haha it was sooo much fun i loved it! cuz you get to talk to more people and have more opportunities.  I hope I'm on a bike soon.  Bike Soldiers! Transferrs are next week but I'm pretty sure I'm not going anywhere. I think I'm gonna kill my trainer. (cuz its kis last transfer)  So anyway, everything is soooo great here, i love it.  thanks for the letters, keep em comin!.  Love you all !

letter numero 12.

helloooooooooooooooo,
wussuppp???? hows is everyone?? I'm getting letters again so that's been great! thank you! hahaha mom, your letter was too funny.  And your crazy btw.  So for those of you who didn't know, mom wrote me a letter on a napkin in the hospital while dad apparently had another kidney stone.  eeehhhh, dad sorry about that.. sounds like death.. but glad to hear all is well now! haha  Also sounds like girls week was a hit.. well done.  mom said price foulger is blowing up? like skiing and stuff? he's too modest and wont tell me wutsup so whats he doing? hes killin some ski competition or something? anywhooo, the field is great! we've had such an awesome week.  My trainer is soooo awesome.  I don't think i fully appreciated how great of a missionary he is before but hes amazing.  We've been working really hard.  We've had some great investigator progress and some bad ones.  So Maria Villeda, we asked her to be baptized and she said yes! but she doesn't want to have a date yet, so were going to go though the rest of the lessons and then she'll do it. which is fine because we have to anyway haha.  But then the next visit we had with her she was super scared because she had to go to court the next day because she has like tons of tickets or something and last time she went they almost threw her in jail.  So i was on exchanges but they gave her a blessing of comfort and we prayed for her.  Well when she went, she couldn't get a lawyer so she went solo, handed all the stuff to the judge and he just asked, "whats your name?" and she told him Maria Villeda, and he told her, go home, everything is taken care of, all your tickets are gone and EVERYTHING!!! how awesome is that!! such a miracle.  She didn't go to jail! so awesome.  and she came to church again and loved it.  And whats really cool is she lives in a house with a ton of people, all extended family of course, and their all interested and come to church but then are like never at our appointments! haha its weird and kinda backwards because their always at church but then we cant find them to teach them.  But i think when Maria gets baptized it will inspire the rest of the family.  And their such a cool family.  i love em.  So were excited about that.  I learned this week how in tune with the spirit my companion is, its sooo cool.  On several occasions when we didn't know what to do or where to go we prayed about it and he always knew where to go and it worked every time! Every time you follow the spirit it works.  So yesterday we had some free time at like 6, so prime time for knocking doors.  But in church, my companion came up to me and was just like "we need to go to Gloria's house tonight" he said he just really felt prompted that we should.  So Gloria is this lady I've only met once and it was for like 2 seconds.  She is never there when we go or anything and we go to her house all the time.  She has not been that interested so i was a little confused when he wanted to go.  But she has these twin 14yr old boys who are such chamacos (punks).  We see them all the time and talk to em.  Well last night we went over and she was actually there! like the first time.  Well she was not happy and we just sat there and listened to her vent about her sons and then she just broke down crying and gave my companion like a 3 minute hug.  I know were not supposed to do that but i think in this situation is was completely appropriate.  Her sons are awful and its all because of their father.  Their separated but he still lives there to pay the rent.  I wanna kill this guy, he's awful to her and apparently hit her the other day in front of the sons.  but her sons just take after him and are TERRIBLE to her and are starting to get into real trouble. it broke my heart listening to her and listening to how they treated her.  btw, i love you mom:) but it ended up going well.  We actually brought with us a proclamation to the world and we read it with her and talked about it and bore our testimony's on family's and everything and i told her about my mom. haha but it was so inspired to go there and at that time.  She needed it so bad.  Its amazing how real the spirit is.  So tonight usually we go out doing work or going to dinner with members or something but were going to play basketball with the twins and some other kids.  Were trying to get closer to them so we can tell em wutsup.  And the new young mens president is coming who is awesome! this guy use to be in gangs and did it ALL and now he's an awesome and active and married with a sweet family.  So hes gonna talk to them a little bit.  So I'm excited about that.  Well im guessing your sick of hearing about people you dont know, sorry. haha but its kinda my life:) haha o! so yesterday i bore my testimony in the ward! it was the first time i was like suuuper nervous to do it.  haha but it was fun.  Spanish is great btw i love it.  O and this week we had a training for all the new missionaries and their trainers which was awesome because i got to see my mtc buddys again! haha but anyway, all is great, the gospel is so true, and I'm lovin it here.  Love you
